CLEANING
DETAILS ABOUT YOUR INSTALLATION OF WINDOW
FILM & RECOMMENDATIONS ON WINDOW CARE
To receive maximum serviceability from
your film installation the following instructions
for proper maintenance MUST be adhered to:
DRYING TIME CAN EXCEED 30 DAYS, DO NOT
WASH YOUR WINDOWS DURING THIS TIME.
YOUR INSTALLATION MAY HAVE A MILKY, HAZY
& BUBBLY APPEARANCE AFTERWARDS.
This appearance is temporary and is all
part of the curing of the film to the glass.
After this time period the film will bond
smoothly to the windows with the transparency
& visual properties of the glass being
maintained.
A small border left between the film and
the frame will facilitate the trimming of
the film in order to ensure maximum edge
adhesion of the film to the glass.
The film does not have the same hard surface
characteristics of glass therefore care
should be exercised in the selection of
materials for cleaning the film.
Cleaning should be done using water mixed
with small quantities of common cleaning
agents such as washing up liquid or liquid
soap which do not normally contain abrasive
particles.
A good quality soft bladed squeegee is
recommended and the first stroke with this
should be across the top of the window followed
by vertical strokes down the window in order
to float any dirt to the bottom.
When washing exterior & interior glass
at the same time YOU MUST ALWAYS CHANGE
THE WATER because when cleaning exterior
windows small particles are normally picked
up which could scratch the interior film.
When cleaning externally applied films
it is important to use clean water and to
carefully squeegee over the film, especially
where there is a joint between 2 pieces
of film on the same pane of glass, in order
to avoid the possibility of damaging the
film.
Application of pressure sensitive water
activated adhesive tape or decals to the
film is NOT recommended.
DO NOT USE BRISTLE BRUSHES, SPONGES, CLEANING
CLOTHS OR PAPER TOWELS.
Any additional information or questions
regarding these cleaning instructions will
be supplied on request.
